Develops electrical control devices to convey materials and products throughout the manufacturing process. Being a Equipment Engineer integrates devices and instruments into the systems that measure and control environmental or material variations occurring during the manufacturing process. Ensures equipment and processes maintain throughput, yield, safety, and reliability objectives. Additionally, Equipment Engineer maintains an up-to-date knowledge of equipment vendors' changes, upgrades, and innovations. Prepares preventive maintenance plans and procedures for all equipment and provides technical support during maintenance or turnaround processes. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Equipment Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Our West Union, SC manufacturing plant is looking for an Design Engineering Intern to join our Wireless Hardware R&D team. In this role, you will design, modify and manage activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production and release. In addition, you will serve as the important resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution.
The candidate is expected to perform the following activities:
Required Skills & Experience:
Experience with real time operating system and/or Linux driver development is a plus.
Basic understanding of electronics engineering fundamentals, digital/analog, test instruments, methodologies, and techniques.
Ability to ask questions and offer input when supervisors deal with more complex problems.
Learn and understand any regulations related to departmental tasks.
Experience: This position requires a minimum of 0-1 year of related experience.
Education: Graduate student in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar field.
