    Overview

    The Regional Sales Director is responsible for all aspects of sales and sales operations for Greater Los Angeles market.  The Regional Sales Director is an industry expert with proven history of leading, growing, and managing a highly driven & diverse sales team.

    Responsibilities

    • Achieve an advanced understanding of the regional customer base including the national fleets, large regional accounts, small – medium fleets and owner operators.  Understand the key drivers and decision criteria for each trailer segment (dryvan, reefer, flatbed, tanker, dump, etc.). 
    • Leverage industry data (Rig Dig, Polk, etc.) to understand TEC’s market share and identify conquest opportunities.  Stay current on industry trends and product developments. 
    • Organize quarterly sales blitzes with sales team and support other dealership teams (parts, finance, and service) to get in front of conquest customers across all product lines.  
    • Actively assess and manage the quality of how we engage customers and maintain excellence in this area.  Building trust and confidence in our long time commitment to a customer is critical to success.  
    • Maintain constant focus on defining, measuring, and improving the customer experience (full cycle, end-to-end).  Develop an actionable understanding of what drives their decision to do business with us.
    • Leverage Salesforce to actively measure win/loss ratio and deploy a continuous improvement strategy in increase the wins.  
    • Collaborate with finance, parts, service, insurance, new/used truck sales, and leasing departments to establish a long term and comprehensive relationship with the customer base. 
    • Take full accountability for the profitability of the trailer sales department within AOR. 
    • Have a detailed understanding of and manage to budget and increase value of department expenses. Actively review financial statements, evaluate to plan, and course correct when needed. 
    • Oversee and manage sales operations team to ensure timely transactions and support for sales team.
    • Understand sales documentation process and requirements including, but not limited to; MSO / title transfer, sales agreements, gross profit worksheets, licensing and registration, FET/state/local tax, etc. 
    • Maintain detailed understanding of current inventory, production backlog, and customer orders.  Works with Trailer Logistics Coordinator for incoming inventory and unique deliveries.   Seek, evaluate, & negotiate used trailer trades & purchases. 
    • Maintain visibility on aged inventory and make necessary adjustments to move in timely manner.  Work directly and as a team player with other Trailer Sales Managers to give/take inventory to support customer needs.  
    • Foster a culture of teamwork and friendly competition. This includes developing a deep and clear understanding of the relationship between the TEC Way and the bottom line.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university preferred; An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
    • Ten years of sales experience with a minimum of five years in sales management. Proven history of setting and achieving sales and business objectives. 
    • P&L responsibility.
    • Five years in commercial vehicle industry.
    • Strong knowledge of the truck industry and trucking equipment.
    • Sound business acumen with ability to analyze, prioritize, identify, and execute solutions.
    • Excellent people management and leadership skills; ability to develop employees at all levels.
    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to build relationships with internal and external contacts.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding.
    • Proficient with MS Office and Dealer Management System(s).
    • Proficient in Salesforce or other CRM system.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to maintain composure and exercise sound judgment at all times.
    • Ability to travel to other TEC locations and to visit customers.
    • Ability to drive culture of continuous improvement.

    Compensation

    The base pay range for this position is $131,419 to $164,274.
