Equipment Director directs the management of company equipment including procurement activities, preventative maintenance, repair/replacement and safety assurance. Manages the records, licenses, inspections, warrantees, and service agreements for the organization's equipment and tools. Being an Equipment Director minimizes organizational cost through product standardization and tracking. Document and tracks equipment performance throughout the product lifetime. Additionally, Equipment Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Equipment Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Equipment Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Job Responsibilities:

    Diagnose repairs for lift trucks, equipment, and other identified products.
    Provide industry leading customer satisfaction.
    Assess the need for additional repairs or maintenance, and communicate findings and potential solutions with supervisor and customer.
    Perform repairs on lift trucks, equipment, and other identified products as communicated by the supervisor and customer.
    Perform warranty repairs and complete related documents as instructed by the company and the supervisor.
    Keep supervisor advised of job progress, delays, changes, status, etc.
    Submit documentation in a timely manner, as required by the company, supervisor, and customers.
    Accurately account for all parts, supplies, and van inventory on work order tickets, PM sheets, etc.
    Provide the parts, service, and sales departments the needed information to provide the right solutions for the job.
    Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tools, van, customer facilities, and shop.
    Maintain company tools in working order and return them to the shop after use.
    Keep up-to-date with new equipment and advances in diagnostic techniques and repairs.
    Adhere to all Company Policies and Work Rules.

    Job Requirements:

    A technical background is required.
    Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, fuel systems, charging systems are a plus.
    Must have own tools.
    Must have communication skills and be able to complete accurate paperwork.
    Must have computer skills or the aptitude and willingness to learn how to use a computer and software.
    Must be able to meet the physical requirements of a service technician.
    Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
    Must have a good attitude and be able to successfully work in a team environment.
    This position may be an apprentice or journeyman position, depending upon qualifications of applicants.
    Steel toed work boots are mandatory.
    Present a professional image in personal appearance, dress and preparation.

    Working Conditions: Hours will be 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some overtime may be required. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
