Equipment Director directs the management of company equipment including procurement activities, preventative maintenance, repair/replacement and safety assurance. Manages the records, licenses, inspections, warrantees, and service agreements for the organization's equipment and tools. Being an Equipment Director minimizes organizational cost through product standardization and tracking. Document and tracks equipment performance throughout the product lifetime. Additionally, Equipment Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Equipment Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.     Salary : The expected pay rate for this position is $28.00 - $35.00 per hour. The actual pay rate offered may vary on multiple factors including, but not limited to, experience, knowledge, skills, certifications and / or location.

    Work Schedule

    Monday - Friday 7 : 00am - 3 : 30pm working in an aerospace ground support equipment overhaul facility.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The GSE Electrical Technician specializing in Aviation Ground Support Equipment (GSE), will play a crucial role in installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of AC and DC electrical systems within ground support equipment.

    Your expertise will ensure the optimal functioning of equipment that supports our customer’s aircraft operations on the ground, including power units, air conditioning units, ground power connectors, and more.

    This position requires a blend of electrical principles, technical expertise, troubleshoot, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

    • Diagnose and Repair Electrical Systems : Identify faults in electrical systems and components of ground support equipment and perform necessary repairs to ensure reliability and functionality.
    • Preventive Maintenance : Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of ground support equipment.
    • Installation and Upgrading : Install new electrical systems and components including but not limited to motors, generators, transformers, switchgear, and control systems and upgrade existing systems to improve efficiency and performance.
    • Compliance and Safety : Ensure all electrical maintenance activities comply with industry standards, company policies, and safety regulations.

    Implement safety procedures while working on electrical systems.

    • Documentation : Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory. Prepare reports on equipment condition, maintenance schedules, and any incidents.
    • Troubleshooting : Quickly and effectively troubleshoot electrical issues that arise, minimizing impact on ground operations.
    • Collaboration : Work closely with other maintenance personnel, including mechanics, technicians, and engineers, to ensure comprehensive maintenance of ground support equipment.
    • Continuous Learning : Stay updated with the latest electrical technologies and practices relevant to aviation ground support equipment.

    Participate in training and development opportunities.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

    • Associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience as an Electrical Technician, with direct experience in maintenance and repair of AC and DC electrical systems.

    Experience in aviation, automotive, or heavy equipment industries is particularly valuable.

    • At least 2 years of experience working specifically with Aviation Ground Support Equipment or similar systems is highly desirable.
    • Strong understanding of electrical systems, circuitry, and troubleshooting techniques.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
    • Familiarity with relevant codes and regulations.
    • Certification or training in electrical safety, maintenance techniques, and equipment-specific operation is a plus.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Willingness to work in varied weather conditions and to adapt to flexible working hours, including weekends as required.
    • Must possess the hand tools necessary to perform assigned tasks.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
    • Ability to work both as a team and / or independently with great success.
    • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.
    • No travel restrictions.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

    • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in awkward positions and tight areas).
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
    • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

    • Med / Heavy Truck Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred.
