Equipment Director directs the management of company equipment including procurement activities, preventative maintenance, repair/replacement and safety assurance. Manages the records, licenses, inspections, warrantees, and service agreements for the organization's equipment and tools. Being an Equipment Director minimizes organizational cost through product standardization and tracking. Document and tracks equipment performance throughout the product lifetime. Additionally, Equipment Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Equipment Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Equipment Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Koenig is currently searching for a qualified Lawn & Garden Equipment Sales Specialist to be based out of the dealership's Rushville, IN location.
    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Develop and maintain mutual business relationships with residential, commercial and governmental customers in an assigned geography consistent with their needs/wants and dealership margin potential. Accept primary responsibility for the new equipment market penetration at assigned dealership.
    • Regularly and consistently call on all assigned accounts and maintain their profiles completely and accurately.
    • Coordinate the merchandising of new and used complete goods consistent with a clean and professional dealership image. Promote dealership accessibility by scheduling and working extended seasonal hours. Ensure a positive retail experience for all customers.
    • Offer equipment solutions (new and pre-owned) including appropriate financing at pricing (margin) which covers three times (3X) base compensation.
    • Thoroughly evaluate and accurately price all machines offered on trade. Assume personal and primary responsibility for the profitable resale of those machines.
    • Promote Koenig Care (planned maintenance) during the selling process of eligible new equipment.
    • Provide back-up for Ag Sales for in-store sales for new and used equipment, for non K/R customers. Pass on all new sales leads to Ag Sales of K/R customers.
    • Assist in annual budget planning and goals planning and implementation geared towards KEI metrics.
    • Attend learning sessions at dealership and external locations as required.
    • Assist in the planning, budgeting and expense control of the department.
    • Work with Lot Coordinator, assisting with the lot display and merchandising. Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications:
    • Minimum 2-5 years of applicable experience in a Dealership, or environment of a similar nature.
    • Strong customer relation and inter-personal skills, ability to communicate effectively and attention to detail.
    • A good working knowledge of sales techniques and methodologies. Strong time management skills.
    • Commitment and adhere to process, maintain standards and address issues in a timely, professional manner.
    • A good understanding of financial reporting principles relative to complete goods (new and used) operations.
