POSITION DESCRIPTION
A Project Manager at SET Engineering is responsible to:
Managing scope, schedule, and budget for a variety of environmental projects including site investigation/characterization, environmental compliance, due diligence, and environmental permitting projects
Phase I/II environmental site assessments
Assisting with the management of remedial action projects for commercial and industrial property developers, law firms, financial institutions, and utilities
Planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating site testing and formulating recommendations for projects of different sizes and complexities
Identifying, evaluating, and recommending additional actions, as necessary, in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
Preparing and reviewing technical documents including reports, proposals, and regulatory agency correspondences
Mentoring and training of junior staff members
Providing excellent customer service
Assisting with client development and business planning preparing cost estimates and proposals
Knowledge of the processes for site investigations, remedial alternative studies, and work plan implementations
Understanding of and experience with remediating sites contaminated with chlorinated solvents, metals and free product (LNAPL & DNAPL)
Interpreting geologic, hydrogeologic, and environmental data
Identifying and developing new business opportunities
When required, work collaboratively with clients, other SET offices, and environmental regulators on project related work
Participating and building on health, safety and environment policies and procedures in the execution of all work
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Science, or closely related discipline
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with minimum of 2 years project management experience
Wisconsin/Minnesota/Illinois/Indiana Professional Engineer (PE) or Geologist (PG) is a plus
Demonstrated experience in project management including budget, schedule and deliverable performance. PMP certification is a plus
Demonstrate experience in researching and understanding administrative code, voluntary programs, and compliance with federal and state regulations to support designing and implementing investigations and remedial alternatives in various states
Familiarity with Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Minesota Pollution Control Agency, Illinois Tiered Approach to Corrective Action, and Indiana Department of Environmental Management regulations
Familiarity with communicating to the client in business terms the environmental and regulatory liabilities and associated implications pertaining to the associated transaction
Demonstrated experience scoping, costing, and writing successful proposals, work plans, investigation, remediation, and design reports, and conducting business development
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, uncertain, high-pressure environment with the ability to change directions and scope quickly
Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical writing experience
Must pass a local, state and federal background check
Must pass DOT physical including drug and alcohol screening
