Environmental Manager oversees the analysis and evaluation of air, water, and land systems to determine if pollutants are present and directs the implementation of appropriate corrective action if necessary. Develops and plans policies and procedures related to air, water, and land systems in accordance with organization and government rules and regulations. Being an Environmental Manager evaluates operations and makes recommendations to reduce waste or pollution. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Additionally, Environmental Manager typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Environmental Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Environmental Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • The Branch General Manager provides overall direction and guidance to the operational activities for the assigned location. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle diverse and significant workload.
    • Ability to identify a problem and execute a solution.
    • Proven track record in the management of company operations and quality assurance


    • Manages business with full Profit and Loss accountability. Has the ability to read financial reports and has the business acumen to utilize the information to make strategic decisions in order to maximize profitability and sustainability
    • Manage the day-to-day activities for assigned office by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objectives, and policies
    • Implement programs to ensure attainment of business plan for growth and profit including all accounting process from quote to cash collections for area of responsibility
    • Solutions-oriented individual; problem solves with profitability in mind
    • Works towards the best interest of Customer Base; Customer-centric thinker
    • Provide direction and structure for operating units
    • Manages and develops new business opportunities and strategies
    • Travels to meet with prospective clients, customers, local service centers and attend company meetings, as required
    • Develop and train staff
    • Able to lead an emergency response team
    • Oversee major projects to ensure that the work is performed in accordance with company and customer requirements and expectations
    • Oversee various environmental field tasks, data collection, data analysis, sampling and report writing
    • Works cooperatively with Business Development Team
    • Other duties as assigned

    Computer Skills:
    • Experience with Microsoft Office products and some ability to adapt to other
    computer software.

    • Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, environmental science or related fields preferred. 7-10 years performing all aspects of Emergency Spill Response. Working knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety standards for Industrial Services sector – leads with Safety as first thought. Relevant industry experience desirable. HAZWOPER and Confined Space certifications. CDL license required.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing at times. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 60 pounds. Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders. May occasionally deal with heights. Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees and managers. Effective conflict resolution abilities. Ability to perform a variety of tasks on wet or slippery work surfaces. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Ability to read, write and do mathematics. Consist of both office setting and physical jobsite. Able to work in confined spaces when needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven track record in management and Industrial Service operations
    • Working knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety standards for the Industrial Services sector
    • Experience performing all aspects of Emergency Spill Response
    • Spill mitigation experience and chemical knowledge
    • Must have working knowledge of TAS 4 Core Lines of Business
    • Strong written and oral communication skills, and proven abilities to interface with multiple work disciplines
    • CDL license, HAZWOPER and Confined Space Certifications a plus
    • Proficient in MS Office and report generation
    • Computer skills including email, report generation, and spreadsheets
    • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment, work in or around extreme temperatures, lift or carry heavy objects in excess of 60 lbs, kneel, squat, or bend for long durations, perform a variety of tasks on wet or slippery work surfaces, climb stairs or ladders, and reach or work overhead
    • Applicants must successfully complete a pre-employment background check, physical and drug screening
