Job description

The selected candidate will oversee and manage a Maintenance staff in an industrial work environment.

The role

The candidate must have knowledge of:

• Engineering concepts including Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Mechanical, and Electrical Systems
• Industrial Equipment including pumps, compressors, conveyors, and shredders
• Blueprints, schematics, and diagrams including the ability to interpret them
• Mobile equipment including forklifts, backhoes, and excavators

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Planning and coordinating all Maintenance activities in conjunction with area managers
• Ensuring Maintenance personnel follow all company policies including Hot Works, Confined Space Entry, LOTO, Safe Work, PPE, etc.
• Interviewing and hiring Maintenance Personnel
• Acquiring quotes and managing Spare Parts inventory
• Developing and maintaining relationships with Contractors
• Developing and ensuring Preventative Maintenance schedules are followed
• Development of SOPs when applicable
• Mentoring and developing new staff to meet current and future business needs
• Managing maintenance activities to ensure budgets are met
  

The person

• HS Diploma
• 10 years in a Supervisory/Management role in an industrial work environment.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
• Knowledge of engineering concepts including Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Mechanical, and Electrical Systems
• Industrial Equipment including pumps, compressors, and conveyors
• Blueprints, schematics, and diagrams including the ability to interpret them
• Mobile equipment including forklifts, backhoes, and excavators
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus
