Environmental Manager oversees the analysis and evaluation of air, water, and land systems to determine if pollutants are present and directs the implementation of appropriate corrective action if necessary. Develops and plans policies and procedures related to air, water, and land systems in accordance with organization and government rules and regulations. Being an Environmental Manager evaluates operations and makes recommendations to reduce waste or pollution. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Additionally, Environmental Manager typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Environmental Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Environmental Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. We are currently seeking candidates to fill the Manager of Safety-Environmental role in our Columbus, NE plant with oversight into our Elkton, KY plant. This critical role manages the Lean Safety & Environmental process for manufacturing plants, regionally. They will Liaison with Government agencies (federal, state, and local). This is a leadership role in the company and will ensure compliance with regulations and drive the lean process towards continuous improvement, safety culture, and process sustainability.
