Environmental Manager oversees the analysis and evaluation of air, water, and land systems to determine if pollutants are present and directs the implementation of appropriate corrective action if necessary. Develops and plans policies and procedures related to air, water, and land systems in accordance with organization and government rules and regulations. Being an Environmental Manager evaluates operations and makes recommendations to reduce waste or pollution. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Additionally, Environmental Manager typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Environmental Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Environmental Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   •  SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER – BOZEMAN, MONTANA

    Water & Environmental Technologies (WET) is seeking a full-time Senior Project Manager to develop and manage new and existing projects in our Bozeman, Montana office location. The selected candidate will have strong technical skills and a diverse background of project experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience managing inter-disciplinary project teams and corporate staff, and experience with varied regulatory settings.  Experience in the fields of geology/hydrogeology, civil engineering, environmental engineering, environmental science, and/or land services will be given preference. A proven track record of successful business development and timely project delivery will be given strong consideration as well. This position will also be responsible for managing the Bozeman office in coordination with WET’s overall business plan. This position will focus on projects generated in our Bozeman, Montana office, and will support other projects across WET’s service area as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in geology/hydrogeology, civil, environmental, or geological engineering, environmental science, or related fields and 7 years of professional project management experience.
    • Advanced degrees and professional licensure are preferred.
    • A proven track record of successful business development and delivery of projects to clients.
    • A strong technical background and familiarity with varied regulatory environments.
    • Candidates must have strong organizational, interpersonal communication, and writing skills.
    • Candidates must be able to operate independently to meet project goals and to take conceptual direction for project tasks and develop high-quality deliverables.
    • Candidates must have experience successfully managing projects, organizations, and staff.
    • Candidates will be expected to manage the technical, planning, and staffing aspects of multiple projects while ensuring deliverables meet WET quality standards.
    • Candidate will be expected to manage the Bozeman office, including supervision of multiple direct reports, and direction of staff and resources as needed.
    • Candidates must be familiar with all industry and WET safety practices and implement those practices on all projects.
    • Candidate must be located in Bozeman, Montana.
    • Candidate will be expected to work directly with Bozeman staff and WET personnel across the company as needed.
    • Candidates must have a valid Driver’s License.
    • OSHA / MSHA training is preferred.

    The Senior Project Manager will be deemed to be performing in a satisfactory manner when
    the following criteria have been met or exceeded:
    • Project management activities comply with WET professional and quality standards.
    • Project management duties are performed in a competent and cooperative
      manner.
    • Client interfaces are effectively maintained.
    • Project related issues are effectively investigated and resolved.
    • Project reports are completed accurately and submitted when due.
    • Project files and documents are properly controlled.
    • All staff and project related interfaces are conducted courteously and
      professionally.
    • All staff projects and assignments are managed appropriately.
    • Budgets and forecasts are developed for revenue growth.
    • Any employees reporting to this position are evaluated at least annually.
    • Employee performance is being managed appropriately.
    • Training and development plans are being implemented.
    • Complies with safe work practice requirements and ensures required
      safety training and certifications are maintained.
    • Confidentiality of client and WET documents and information is
      maintained at all times.
