Environmental, Health and Safety Director oversees organizational compliance with local, state and federal environment, health and safety regulations. Ensures that environmental policy and procedure manuals are available and updated at all times. EH&S Manager Summary: Plans, directs, and implements the organization's Environmental, Safety, and Health (EH&S) program, a healthy and environmentally compliant environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
EH&S Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Policy development, implementation, administration, training, and compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations.
Ensure that each facility has proper documentation, including current procedures and training records for record keeping on all activities to demonstrate compliance to government regulations, insurance requirements, and company policy.
Recommend systems and policies, which ensure compliance with applicable EH&S standards, governmental regulations and company goals/objectives.
Perform internal audits and inspections. Recommend corrective or preventative measures where indicated. Follow-up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Assist with customer EH&S audits and complete, as required, all safety and environmental questionnaires as submitted by our customers.
Review SDS sheets and, all new or modified processing equipment. Alert management as to any potential “unsafe” condition.
Chair of the site Safety Committee and provide guidance to management.
Accident investigation, file maintenance and OSHA record keeping.
Coordinate employee medical surveillance, industrial hygiene and environmental monitoring. Maintain safety files, records and training database.
Other duties may be assigned.
