    Environmental Services Technician – (Day Shift 6:30AM-3:00PM)
    In any given year, our people have a hand in installing, maintaining, or operating hundreds of large mechanical systems – or supporting those that do. With each of those, there’s a story that is affecting people’s lives.     Our Environmental Services Technician positions support to the efficiency and function of the facility by performing housekeeping and janitorial duties.

    Principal Duties and Accountabilities:

    • Follow established procedures to provide a safe working environment including complying with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), state/local, federal, and U.S. Engineering regulations, policies, and rules.
    • Clean and sanitize restrooms and break-rooms following established protocols.
    • Restock soap and paper dispensers in restrooms and break areas.
    • Care for carpeted floors by vacuuming, spot cleaning, and shampooing.
    • Maintain hard surface floors by sweeping, mopping, striping and waxing.
    • Clean interior and exterior windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
    • Empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers.
    • Properly clean and maintain housekeeping equipment.
    • Report maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
    • Record supply inventory as directed and inform management when cleaning supplies are low.
    • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during work.
    Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
    • Capability to pass Q-level-clearance to work in a secure government facility including credit, drug, and legal background checks required.
    • Capacity to perform duties with a sense of urgency.
    • Dexterity to transport all supplies to and from work areas.
    • Ability to wear respirator and other Personal Protective Equipment as required.
    • The know-how to operate equipment including: vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, mop and broom.
    • Capability to work around dust and with cleaning chemicals.
    • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, and work on hand and knees for long periods of time.
      • Please note:  In this position, there is significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.
