Environmental Engineer identifies, assesses and resolves problems concerning the environment. May also design, install, operate and maintain measuring apparatus to determine the level of pollutants involving air, land, and water. Being an Environmental Engineer performs experiments and reports findings on environmental consequences of equipment, tools, and procedures. Ensures the organization's conformance to federal, state, and local environmental legislation. Additionally, Environmental Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be an Environmental Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Job Overview
The primary responsibility of Think Environmental LDAR technicians is to detect fugitive emissions from equipment in chemical plants, gas processing plants and refineries per EPA Method 21. Our technicians are trained in LDAR regulatory policies, EPA Method 21 monitoring procedures, component identification and record keeping
Key Responsibilities
- Perform leak detection per EPA Method 21
- Make first attempts to repair leaking components
- Work with plant operations and maintenance to ensure successful leak repairs
- Perform other daily routine tasks as required
Requirements
Basic Qualifications- Industrial/plant experience preferred
- TWIC Card is a plus
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to read and speak English
- Ability to perform work in adverse weather conditions (heat/cold, inclement weather)
- Ability to safely lift up to 60 pounds
- Ability to work at heights of 100 feet
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen and physical
