 Job Description

 BiOrigin SP is in the market for an Environmental Engineer to be based in Wiggins, MS. The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for environmental compliance requirements for air emissions, water intake, water effluent, stormwater and best management practices while maintaining accurate records. 

 Essential Job Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the Mill Water and Air Environmental Systems with full compliance to all local, State and Federal requirements
• Coordinate the collection of samples, laboratory testing, and all required reporting to State and Federal E.P.A.
• Monitor the daily operation of the mill environmental systems.
• Provide operator training and continual improvement techniques to optimize the operation of these systems.
• Ensure continual compliance with all mill permits including all permit renewal processes, applications and environmental /spill plans.

Essential Skillset, Education/Qualification, Certification Attainment:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or Science related field.
• Experience in managing Environmental Systems and Environmental Report generation.
• Troubleshooting skills and ability to develop and administer corrective actions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JDE, and Outlook
• Good communication skills – both verbal and written
• Demonstrated ability to achieve Continuous Improvement 

 Additional Information 

• Frequent exposure to mill environment—hot, dusty, humid, noisy, working around moving equipment.  
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn in mill environment.
• Occasional travel to mill, customer, or supplier locations may be required.
• Lifting up to 30 pounds

• Climbing stairs and ladders, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling.
