POSITION DESCRIPTION

A & M is seeking a Senior Accountant to prepare and maintains financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities

Responsibilities/Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

The person hired for this role will be responsible for

• Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s Core Values and Code of Conduct and Business Ethics.
• Proper reporting and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
• Review, audit, and maintain department overhead expense accounts
• Prepare monthly financial statements for review
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation promptly based on established deadlines
• Perform analytical review of financial data as assigned by the supervisor
• Prepare routine journal entries
• Perform monthly accounts receivable reviews and coordinate with account managers on collection inquiries
• Provide backup to execute the monthly billing process accurately and efficiently
• Apply customer payments to customer accounts timely and accurately
• Process accounts payable invoices
• Review and process payments to vendors
• Participate in finance and accounting special projects
• Fixed Asset accounting
• Assist with project setup

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

The ideal candidate will need the following for success in this role:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Construction firm experience required
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), and the ability to learn company-specific software programs
• Experience with Viewpoint/Vista or similar Construction ERP system preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet
• Deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum of five (5) years’ direct experience in a position with similar duties. Details
