Job Summary: | Under the direction of the Director of EHS, provides professional expertise in the operation of Environmental, Health and Safety programs to help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, national consensus standards and OSU safety policies and procedures. The Environmental Compliance Program Manager oversees activities related to environmental regulations including but not limited to ODEQ and EPA. Monitors organizational performance, develop policy and compliance strategies, maintain necessary permits, perform facility audits, train managers and employees and assess and apply strategies for continuous improvement. |

Position Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, and three years of experience with administering and managing environmental compliance programs. Valid driver's license. A valid driver's license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned. Certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED. If needed, certifications will be provided by the department within six months of employment. Additional recertifications will be provided throughout employment as required to remain up-to-date. Ability to communicate well with administrators, faculty, staff, students and others efficiently, effectively and in a professional manner. Ability to analyze complex problems and develop practical cost-effective solutions. Ability to understand and interpret complex state and federal laws and regulations. Ability to operate calmly under emergency and stressful conditions. Expert knowledge of ODEQ and EPA. Ability to communicate well (verbally and written) with good report writing skills. Computer skills to include operation and utilization of various software programs to include MS office. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Over five years of experience with administering and managing environmental compliance programs. 24 hour HAZWOPER certification. If needed, certifications will be provided by the department within six months of employment. Additional recertifications will be provided throughout employment as required to remain up-to-date. |
