    Job Description:
    This position will be responsible for providing comprehensive environmental support and oversight. Responsible for technical work including environmental disciplines, including wastewater, stormwater, erosion, and sedimentation control, landfill operations, groundwater, and RICE engines. Responsible for evaluating federal, state, and local environmental permitting required permits, specifically sediment and erosion control/storm water preparation plans (SWPPP) and stormwater permitting for transmission capital project work concerning regulated electric transmission substations and lines.

    Responsibilities will include: 
    • Providing functional direction in preparing and obtaining environmental, erosion control/stormwater, and construction permits for federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. 
    • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of permitting regulations and compliance requirements and their impact on transmission projects. 
    • Track Project schedules and tasks. 
    • Closeout of permits, including coordination with agencies, once construction is complete. 
    • Develop processes, find improvements, and maintain appropriate permit records.

    Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Locals Preferred) - this project starts in March 2024

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science, or other related field of study
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in an Environmental role
    • Proficient in obtaining local, state, and federal environmental permits including erosion and sediment and erosion control plans and Army Corps of Engineers US 404/401 permits
    • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS
    • Experience working with an electric utility
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with regulators and the public regarding the environmental permitting of land development projects.
