Develop and oversee new hire orientation, onboarding efforts and employee termination process
Assist with payroll and benefits administration

Full time, Work 40 hours/week
Schedule: primarily Monday-Friday days with occasional evenings/ weekends for education and/or orientation

In partnership with Gundersen Health System (GHS) and Affiliate Hospital Senior Leadership, the HR Generalist is responsible for applying business knowledge and human resources (HR) expertise in a wide range of HR services to a specific Gundersen affiliate. As a key role in the success of the organization, offers guidance on recruitment, benefits, leave programs, performance management, and HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between staff and Senior Leadership within the affiliate location and Gundersen Health System.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Supports the HR initiatives to help improve the employee experience, including performing routine administrative tasks to execute human resource programs such as compensation, payroll, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; recognition, and morale; and training and development.
2. Develops and supports staff and leadership. Assists leadership in developing a culture consistent with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
3. Maintains policies and procedures, employee records, and regulatory compliance with local, state and federal employment laws, benefit laws, and regulations.
4. In partnership with GHS Recruitment staff, assists with recruitment, job descriptions, job postings, background and license checks, and pre-hire activities. Provides new employee orientation, on-boarding, and training programs.
5. Answers employee questions and addresses employee concerns with company; including recruitment, benefits, payroll, employee relations, employee safety, policies, wellness and health.
6. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Assists with monitoring the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
7. In partnership with GHS HR provides general employee relations, referring complex and/or sensitive employee relations concerns to GHS Employee and Labor Relations team or GHS Clinician Employee and Labor Relations team for provider concerns.
8. Recommends new approaches and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the services performed.
9. Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
10. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED - Bachelor's degree in a Human Resources or related field
