Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager jobs in Florida

Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager plans, develops and manages company policies for adhering to local, state and federal environment, health and safety regulations. Designs and develops facilities, work areas and work procedures. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager directs preparation, maintenance, and updating of environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to environmental, health, and safety engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • JOB SUMMARY

    The Safety Manager is responsible for all safety related matters for System Service and Engineering. They will promote and uphold our culture of safety.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Facilitate compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations such as OSHA and the FMCSA and our insurance carriers, customers, and contractors.
    • Provide training for field team members such as OSHA 10 & 30 hour programs, CPR, First Aid & AED, Fork Lift, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, etc.
    • Participate in site visits as required by the customer, General Contractor, Insurance Carrier, etc.
    • Schedule and conduct site inspections to ensure personnel are operating in a safe manner and wearing all required PPE.
    • Plan, facilitate, and oversee any crane lifts or other high-risk job task in-person.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Strong ability to plan for, prioritize, and execute assigned tasks without direct supervision.
    • Ability to analyze and solve work related problems.
    • Ability to handle difficult stressful situations with professional composure.
    • Ability to conduct presentations and training sessions for our team members.
    • Possess or obtain the necessary training credentials that facilitate certification of team members in various safety related courses.
    • Ability to operate a company vehicle.
    • Must possess and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record that meets or exceeds company standards.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • The team member is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The team member is frequently required to stand; walk; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. They must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
    • The team member may be required to climb ladders or access rooftops through ladder-hatches.

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • High school degree or equivalent necessary, Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
    • 5 years of experience in a risk, safety, or claims related position is preferred.
    • Combination of education and experience is preferred.
    • Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
