Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager plans, develops and manages company policies for adhering to local, state and federal environment, health and safety regulations. Designs and develops facilities, work areas and work procedures. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager directs preparation, maintenance, and updating of environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to environmental, health, and safety engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Description
Drive excellent SHE performance through support and development of management systems to ensure safety and health regulatory compliance, and SHE program implementation at Columbus Campus which consist of Aludyne Foundry and Machining Columbus, GA. The scope of the Managers regulatory compliance and management systems will apply broadly within the SHE Department’s responsibilities but will primarily focus on casualty and property risk control; administer Aludyne Employee Health and Safety management practices under the OSH Act; administer Aludyne Employee Health Safety Environmental management practices under the ISO 14000 Standards.
Requirements
DUTIES OR ACTIVITIES REQUIRED
Education
B.S. in Industrial Safety and Health, Engineering or other related fields.
Related Experience: 5-10 years in safety and health related functions and administration,
preferably in manufacturing.
Specialty Training or Working knowledge of Federal and State Safety and Health regulations.
Competence: Certified Safety Professional registration considered a plus.
Equipment/Software General knowledge of Word for Windows, Lotus Notes, Excel, and Power
Skills: Point is a plus. AutoCAD, Visio, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Access, Visual Basic etc. is considered to be a plus.
Other comments: Responsible for analyzing and determining the applicability of Safety.
Health and Environmental regulations as they pertain to Aludyne and ensuring that corrective action programs are implemented by interfacing with SHE, Plant Managers, Engineering Managers, Process/Plant Engineers and other Aludyne personnel as necessary.
