Env., Health, and Safety Engineer implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineer serves as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Plan, develop and implement safety programs, policies in collaboration with the Site Management team to ensure safety compliance, employee engagement and continuous improvement to prevent work place injuries.

    How you'll make an impact...

    • Drive continuous improvement for a safe work environment, engaging employees through safety committees and comprehensive orientation.
    • Lead training and company adherence to safety investigation protocols in accordance with global and regional safety directives. Utilize computer based tools to identify site trends and preventative measures to implement and maintain collaboration with employees, supervisors, and managers.
    • Implement and enforce site safety policies, procedures, and regulatory training, addressing at-risk areas and conducting safety audits.
    • Lead safety investigations, analyze trends, and collaborate with leadership on prevention measures.
    • Manage OSHA compliance, maintain safety documentation, and oversee ISO 45001 implementation.
    • Communicate site safety metrics, accident trends, and ensure timely reporting of Vermont Worker's Compensation claims.
    • Foster ongoing communication with injured workers, providing documentation and facilitating return-to-work policies.

    What do you bring...

    • Minimum 5 years of experience with thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and Worker's Compensation processes. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
    • Proven track record of implementing positive safety culture initiatives.
    • Willingness to travel and ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks, and work independently with urgency.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint; experience in safety and environmental training.
    • Strong relationship building and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
