  • Position Purpose

    The Enterprise Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the management of the physical and virtual server and network infrastructure and resolving escalated support issues. This person is responsible for designing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and capacity planning for all hardware and software related services, and serving as the technical expert for each of these systems. This person leads the effort in technical research and development to enable continuing improvement within the infrastructure, ensuring that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and remains up to date with industry wide technology trends.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    • Design and provide ongoing oversight of the infrastructure strategy including the server, storage, network, security and disaster recovery technologies.
    • Implementation, configuration and maintenance of the multi-office Microsoft domain and communication services, the TCP/IP network (including DNS, DHCP), storage area networks and a highly available virtual environment
    • Ensure the highest levels of domain and communication systems and infrastructure availability by defining, recommending and performing system monitoring, analysis and optimization tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software, and operating and management systems.
    • Define, implement, monitor and test Disaster Recovery (DR) policies and procedures to ensure highly available and redundant data storage.
    • Define, implement, monitor and test infrastructure security policies and procedures to ensure highly available and secure access to systems using technologies such as VPN, Multi-Factor Authentication, End-Point Protection, SPAM filtering, etc.
    • Manage email infrastructure including backups, spam filtering and application administration.
    • Research and select upgrades, software and other necessities for enterprise server and network environments and provide team lead responsibilities, serving as an escalation for day to day infrastructure team activities
    • Manage and administer Active Directory domain services including authentication, group policy, DNS, DHCP, group and user access rights, directory services and remote administration
    • Document system structure, performance, process and changes.
    • Utilize effective written and oral communication
    • Research and recommend sound, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
    • Provide escalated support for internal staff on their regular IT activities.
    • Supervisory responsibilities for group members and support staff including hiring, promoting, terminations, performance reviews, and training

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science and 8 plus years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 8 or more years of experience managing enterprise Windows Server & Hyper-V virtualized environments or similar technologies, Windows Server, Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365, Configuration and maintenance experience with Dell server and Dell SAN storage array or equivalent
    • 5 or more years of experience managing complex LAN/WAN environments
    • 5 or more years of experience managing VOIP environments

    • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodology needed to perform or direct duties generally acquired and developed through formal education, extensive training, and relevant experience.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wireless, including the knowledge to define an overall strategy related to such technologies.
    • Guidelines exist, however require judgment in selecting the most appropriate option to a given situation. May require some interpretation because of varying situations.
    • Manage individuals to complete the task or provide assistance where necessary.
    • Includes activities that produce portions of decisions made in conjunction with other individuals.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and to maintain strict confidentiality.
    • Strong customer service skills; responds promptly to customer needs.
    • Ability to appropriately deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
    • Ability to make sound and accurate decisions; include appropriate people in decision-making process; make timely decisions.
    • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities; use time efficiently; plan for additional resources; set goals and objectives.
    • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; meet productivity standards; complete work in timely manner.
    • Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule, to be at work and on time. May occasionally require the ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours. Schedules may vary based on business need.

    Relationships

    The Enterprise Infrastructure Manager receives supervision from the IT Director.

    • The position is responsible for planning and carrying out the assignment, resolving most of the conflicts which arise, coordinating the work of others as necessary and interpreting policy on own initiative in terms of established objectives.
    • Conduct staff performance, behavior assessments, and team building efforts.

    Hours and Travel

    This position requires the individual work 40 hours per week with 90% of the time spent in the office.
