Enterprise Infrastructure Director manages and coordinates the information systems that will adequately support the organization's enterprise infrastructure. Monitors and manages all IT infrastructure projects to meet company and client needs. Being an Enterprise Infrastructure Director determines current and future enterprise infrastructure needs, ensuring the scalability of infrastructure design to handle expected growth. Implements policies and procedures to maintain, enhance, and secure an organization's technology infrastructure. Additionally, Enterprise Infrastructure Director is responsible for monitoring the systems to ensure the highest level of infrastructure performance. May assist in network interface planning, hardware resource availability, and the development of new applications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Enterprise Infrastructure Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Enterprise Infrastructure Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Leads the execution of hardware service activities such as installation/relocation of machines, engineering changes, and deferred maintenance to minimize interruption to the systems operations.
    • Manages the infrastructure and service desk operational planning and projects, while organizing and negotiating the allocation of IT resources to meet all times and provide clear and timely communication with all involved parties throughout process.
    • Creates work plans, goals, and objectives to manage day-to-day operations, meet production schedules and improve work processes.
    • Plans, assigns, and directs activities of all infrastructure and service desk staff, including maintenance and repair of branch, datacenter, and network assets.
    • Reviews existing policies and procedures or develops new procedures as required to document methodology or to establish priorities for installation, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware and related equipment.
    • Keeps informed of new developments, technologies and ideas that affect computer operations and efficiencies by recommending the appropriate modifications to systems configuration and develops operational procedures to resolve specific computer operations or maintenance problems to meet regulatory requirements.
    • Embrace analytics and enterprise architecture to be able to understand dependencies and be able to communicate with business peers.
    • Designs, specifies, configures, installs, and maintains local area network hardware, and software such as personal computers, system software, software applications, printers, and servers.
    • Oversees network users, user environment, directories, and security.
    • Assumed the responsibility as the product owner for any software used in infrastructure and service desk area, including managing the installation and testing of software upgrades.
    • Collects and analyzes network and memory utilization.
    • Creates and implements a Data Services Disaster Prevention and Recovery Plan, relating to facility standards, security, data protection and fire prevention.
    • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, including senior management, end users, technical support staff, vendors, and consultants.
    • Recommends budget estimates for computer equipment and supplies, coordinates department budget development by tracking current year expenditures against approved budget.
    • Prepares regular reports for VP of DCIT, Senior Management or Board regarding activities affecting the operations or maintenance functions of the data processing system.
    • Coach, evaluate and train infrastructure and service desk staff.
    • Respond expeditiously to all network outages, including being on call as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned by VP of DCIT or Senior Management.

    KNOWLEDGE

    • Advanced technical knowledge of current network, hardware, server, and PC operating systems and standards. Ability to translate the credit union’s goals and objectives into actions. In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. Strong understanding of project management principles and resource planning and development.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, end users, technical support staff, vendors, and consultants.


    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Ability to work in a high-paced environment including working non-traditional hours as needed for network functionality demands. Experience with automation, security, combined with an understanding of integrated network access solutions, firewall concepts, network architecture, and proxy protocols.


    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of job-related experience within IT or a combination of formal education and experience.


    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    The position requires the following physical activities within varying environmental conditions:

    • Occasionally remaining in a stationary position which may be standing or sitting for a prolonged period.
    • Occasional travel or moving from one office location to another or from one department to another at the headquarters building.
    • Occasional lifting, moving, or adjusting objects up to 20 pounds.
    • Constant communication with others through various channels including verbal, email, and chat of which the last two may require consistent use of a keyboard and mouse or another electronic device.
    • Work will be in a commercially reasonable temperature-controlled environment.
    • Occasional temporary exterior site review which could be in outdoor elements of wind, rain, or snow.
