General Description:
The IS Computer Operator is responsible for manning the Network Operations Center at the main facility. S/he tracks help desk tickets, inventory responsibility’s, equipment procurement, printer support for ordering replacing toner throughout the organization, and supports issues according to procedure for inspecting and monitoring critical computer software, hardware, and environmental systems.
Essential Functions:
• Manages incoming support issues through phone calls, email and walk-up window, prioritizing and tracking each issue to completion. Documents each interaction in the ticket management system.
• Follows pre-defined procedures to monitor and inspect critical computer hardware, software, security and environmental systems.
• Resolves first level calls including password resets, toner replacements, equipment procurement, documentation, and minor computing problems with pre-defined fixes or procedures from a knowledgebase system.
• Drafts and updates procedures and documentation related to computer support issues.
• Works to establish constant tech skills improvement.
• Manages and maintains all inventory asset tracking and procurement needs per IS Director.
