Engineering Manager manages all engineering activities within a department including design, development, production and testing. Implements and maintains overall engineering objectives and initiatives. Being an Engineering Manager confronts and solves performance/operational issues to improve development efficiency. Leads and develops the engineering team. Additionally, Engineering Manager oversees a robust project management process and delivery timelines to keep projects on schedule and on budget. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Typically reports to a director. The Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Engineering Manager Job Summary
The Engineering Manager will mentor staff and provide senior leadership and technical oversight on exciting and engaging engineering projects. This is a key leadership position, requiring excellent communication skills as well as the ability to mentor, provide technical review, and strategize site engineering management. The Engineering Manager works with HydroCad and AutoCAD Civil 3D, or Carlson software as well as related site design disciplines such as hydrogeology, geotech and other infrastructure. Typical projects include facility development, commercial site plans, stormwater and erosion control plans, septic system and sewer design, wetlands and town/state permitting.Engineering Manager Responsibilities

Engineering Manager Position Requirements
- 8 years of civil engineering experience with previous supervisory assignments
- Minimum qualifications of an Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design or related technology required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Design or related technology preferred
- Practical experience in the application, modification and adaptation of standards, techniques and procedures
- Basic knowledge to support technical and administrative analysis
- Proficiency in PC computer operation, including spreadsheet and word processing programs
- Experience in database operations and the use of engineering programs desired
- Experience in Intergraph CADD or AutoCAD desired
