Engineering Director jobs in South Dakota
Engineering Director plans and directs all aspects of engineering activities and projects within an organization. Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives. Being an Engineering Director utilizes best practice engineering methods and provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives. Incorporates components, materials, and tools that result in cost-effective and quality output. Additionally, Engineering Director manages overall engineering budget and costs. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Typically reports to top management. The Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Engineering Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Job Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of related experience.
Proficiency in Structural Design, Project Management, Parametric Modeling (Creo), FEA (Mechanica or Ansys), Microsoft AX, Microsoft Office, Data Acquisition, PLC Programming.
Bachelors degree in Engineering-Mechanical Designation preferred.
Competency in employing 2D and 3D Computer Aided Drafting software.
Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
Willingness to travel to plants
Job Responsibilities:
Directing engineering processes and teams for optimum efficiency and productivity.
Implementing and overseeing project management initiatives.
Utilizing drafting software to create 2D and 3D structural designs.
Conducting data acquisition and PLC programming tasks as necessary.
Travelling to various plant locations for oversight and project implementation.
Pay Details: $130,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year
