Engineering Director jobs in Meridian, MS
Engineering Director plans and directs all aspects of engineering activities and projects within an organization. Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives. Being an Engineering Director utilizes best practice engineering methods and provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives. Incorporates components, materials, and tools that result in cost-effective and quality output. Additionally, Engineering Director manages overall engineering budget and costs. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Typically reports to top management. The Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Engineering Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Duties/Responsibilities
- Primary leader for our quality management systems.
- Ensures that all processes deliver outstanding quality in our products and services.
- Reviews and responds to quality and customer concerns.
- Improves departmental and company efficiency and processes.
- Proactively analyzes data to identify root causes and areas for improvement.
- Works closely with other departments, customers, and suppliers to manage and resolve quality issues.
- Works collaboratively with management staff to develop, initiate, and monitor strategic initiatives throughout the organization.
- Manages and trains quality staff.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Demonstrated work experience in Quality management in a manufacturing environment preferably with defense and aerospace products.
- Demonstrated supervisory and management experience.
- Experience with leading ISO quality management certifications, preferably AS9100 and NADCAP certifications.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
