Engineering Aide assists engineers with technical tasks and project support. Sets up equipment and monitors tests and experiments. Being an Engineering Aide observes results, collects data, and compiles summaries and reports. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with. Additionally, Engineering Aide typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Engineering Aide may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Responsibilities
Performs field data collection and surveying for topographic base-maps and as-builts. Composes layouts, plans and profile sheets for various public works and water utility improvements. Assignments typically include the operation of both modern and traditional survey/field data collection equipment and related instruments.

Graduation from high school (or G.E.D.).
