Position Summary
Accord Federal Services, LLC is a veteran owned government contracting firm located in Knoxville, TN. Our core area of business is facility management and maintenance. We have been in operation for over 13 years and have existing contracts at locations across the country. We have recently been awarded the Oak Ridge Reservation Management Roads, Grounds and Facilities Contract. We are currently hiring to fill the position of Engineer.

· Design and oversee the construction and maintenance of infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
· Perform environmental impact assessments and develop strategies to minimize negative effects.
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project specifications and schedules are met.
· Apply engineering principles to solve complex problems and improve project outcomes.
· Ensure projects comply with all federal, state, and local regulations.
· Must have the ability to establish program objectives, performance goals and assess program status, identify issues and present courses of action to mitigate issues.
· The Engineer may perform daily toolbox meetings, jobsite safety audits, noise assessments, heat stress monitoring, maintain SDSs, develop, implement and review AHAs.
· The Engineer must be able to communicate with employees at all levels, with a thorough knowledge of applicable DOE, OSHA, ANSI, NFPA and other regulations.
· Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
· Monitor ongoing site operations and performance for quality, safety and environmental compliance and be prepared to stop work and or adjust work requirements to maintain a safe workplace.
· Lead Environmental Protection and Hazardous Material/Waste Management, Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan and AHAs.
· The Engineer will have the ability to manage Task Orders (TO) from inception to completion. Task Orders may be generated from the Engineer’s body of work or from the DOE customer’s Statement of Work. The Engineer will plan, generate Work Plans and other programmatic documents, vet and work with subcontractors for quotes, prebrief the work to be performed, monitor and control the work, and complete required documentation.
· The Engineer needs to be agreeable and comfortable working in a firm where employees share many responsibilities. The ideal candidate would be able to work in Operations, Project Management, Safety, Task Management, Equipment and Facility Maintenance, and Disaster Recovery.
The ideal candidate would be available to report in the event of a natural disaster or extreme weather event.
Requirements
General Requirements
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
· Professional Engineering (PE) Certification highly desired or is obtaining.
· Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience, with a preference for candidates with experience in government projects.
· Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
· Experience working on government contracts.
· Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
· Active involvement in professional engineering societies and continuous professional development.
· Proven knowledge of DOE safety and environmental principles, practices, reporting, standards, laws and regulations housed in the 29 CFR 851, 1910, and 1926 and the EM 385-1-1.
· High attention to detail and accuracy.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Must be a team player but also work independently.
· Strong Microsoft Office and database skills.
Education and Citizenship Requirements
· Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
· Required: 5-10 Years field experience in construction or maintenance operations
· Required: OSHA 30-Hour Construction
· Required: Construction Quality Management (CQM-USACE)
· Required: OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER
· Required: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
· Required: US nationality/citizenship and residence, with verbal and written fluency in English.
· Required: Be cleared to work in the USA via an eVerify check.
· Required: Clean background check dating back 7 years and ability to obtain and maintain a clearance badge.
· Required: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and must participate in the company random drug test program.
· Required: Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineer in Training (EIT).
· Desired: PE or PE exam ready.
· Desired: Ideal candidate would have experience not only in field work but working in the trades prior to becoming a degreed professional.
