Energy Manager monitors the organization's energy usage. Develops and implements practices and procedures designed to reduce energy consumption and/or improve efficiency of usage. Being an Energy Manager prepares annual budgets associated with conservation programs. May research alternative/renewable energy technologies and determine their feasibility and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, Energy Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Energy Manager work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Working directly with building owners, managers, and facility personnel to provide technical and financial solutions for their mechanical systems. This is accomplished through maintenance contracts, energy and intelligent services, turnkey projects, building automation systems and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Engineering degree preferred. Broad knowledge of such fields as advanced accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Eight years of experience in mechanical maintenance in an industrial environment will be considered in lieu of formal degree, including 4 years related management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
State driver s license, auto insurance, auto registration, acceptable driving record.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
CEM, plumber s license, electrician s license, boiler license, or EPA certificate considered a plus.
SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED:

Specific Programs and/or skills:
Heavy presentation/PowerPoint skills. Specialty software training provided post hire. Energy analysis software considered a plus.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Comfortable meeting meet new people and developing lasting business relationships.
