Energy Dispatch Supervisor supervises the operations and activities of an energy dispatch control room. Oversees the work of dispatchers and ensures compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures. Being an Energy Dispatch Supervisor requires at least an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager/head of unit. The Energy Dispatch Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Summary
This position is responsible for assigning drivers to trucks and providing accurate directions to well site locations or facilities. Dispatchers communicate with drivers via phone, GPS, or two way radios. Dispatchers need general knowledge of customer needs and of local highway systems in the regions in which their drivers operate (which in some instances can include county roads). Many dispatchers work unusual schedules due to 24 hour operations. They may also be assigned to work weekends, nights and holidays.
