    Summary            Public Sector Consultants is hiring a director of clean energy finance to join our energy and     
     environment team. The ideal candidate will have a background in designing and implementing 
     financing programs, preferably in the clean energy sector. With its success in standing up
     Michigan Saves, the nation’s first nonprofit green bank, and the impending significant federal
     investment in green financing entities, PSC is seeking a director to lead these efforts for our
     clients across the United States.

     As the director, you will provide thought leadership in clean energy financing and policy, cultivate 
     relationships with other organizations working in this domain, and lead green bank development
     in other states. You will manage projects related to local, state, and national energy regulatory
     and policy issues as they relate to funding priorities. As the director, you should be intellectually
     curious, using your interest and experience to generate new project prospects.

    Essential Duties

    • Partners with PSC energy subject matter experts to lead the development of green banks across the United States
    • Demonstrates expertise in clean energy financing with the ability to interpret and comment on complex policy issues, supporting PSC’s position as a policy thought leader
    • Designs loan programs in support of development of new green banks; establishes financial guidelines, transaction processes, and associated administrative functions
    • Manages multiple projects concurrently, including communicating with clients and partners, overseeing the scope of work, and collaborating with team members to ensure high-quality projects that are completed on time and on budget
    • Cultivates relationships with public policy leaders by identifying project opportunities and prospective clients that align with the team’s goals, meeting with prospects and clients, and closing sales opportunities to help meet team sales goals
    • Mentors staff through modeling PSC values, championing the firm’s policies and processes, providing guidance in handling client and colleague relational matters, and delivering constructive feedback
    • Serves as a strategic advisor to staff, including guiding the development and delivery of scopes of work, reviewing client deliverables and sales proposals, and providing relevant information to offer potential solutions
    • Designs meeting processes and facilitates stakeholder discussions on a range of policy topics
    • Ensures services are delivered with consideration to the proper allocation of resources, profitability, high-quality output, and a high level of client satisfaction
    • Develops and maintains an understanding of work undertaken across the firm to communicate what PSC does from a broad lens to external audiences and identify cross-team collaboration opportunities
    • Bills at least 1,040 hours (50 percent) of the 2,080 hours in a work year to client projects

    • Is occasionally available beyond regular work hours as necessary to respond to staff and firm needs

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree and ten years of relevant work experience
    • MBA or advanced degree in relevant discipline preferred
    • Energy policy and regulation experience is preferred but not required
    • Experience working on public policy topics with diverse stakeholders
    • Experience managing and mentoring others

    Effectively and appropriately communicates and adapts that knowledge in various contexts, both verbally and in writing
