Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and experienced Endoscopy Technician to join our medical team. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with diagnostic evaluations and procedures using specialized medical equipment. Your expertise in aseptic technique, scope processing and care, and excellent communication skills will be crucial in providing high-quality patient care.
Duties:
- Prepare and set up endoscopy equipment, ensuring it is clean, sterile, and in proper working condition.
- Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures, providing necessary instruments and equipment. Obtain specimens as directed by the physician to send to the lab.
- Assist with patient positioning before and during procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, including patient information, procedure details, and referring physician.
- Clean and disinfect endoscopy equipment after each procedure, following proper infection control protocols
-Other duties as delegated by RNs or physicians, which may include obtaining vital signs and patient care as needed, ordering supplies, updating and maintaining safety logs and other clerical tasks.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
Experience:
- Previous experience as an Endoscopy Technician or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of some anatomy and medical terminology
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
