Endoscopy Technician performs various direct patient care activities in the endoscopy unit under the supervision of a physician. Ensures that all equipment is functioning properly. Being an Endoscopy Technician may assist with medical procedures. Typically requires an associate degree. Additionally, Endoscopy Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Endoscopy Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. This position assists with patient admissions and discharges to the West Shore Endoscopy Center. The Technician helps to prepare patients for endoscopy and assists the physician with GI procedures. Also responsible to take vitals, update patient charts, initiate calls to patients for post-procedure follow-up, and maintains endoscopy equipment/ supplies.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday/ 7:30am - 4pm
Education/ Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year work in a physician practice or medical setting
- GI Technician Certification is preferred
- Medical Assistant Certification a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to prioritize work flows
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office and medical documentation systems (EHR)
