Endoscopy Technician performs various direct patient care activities in the endoscopy unit under the supervision of a physician. Ensures that all equipment is functioning properly. Being an Endoscopy Technician may assist with medical procedures. Typically requires an associate degree. Additionally, Endoscopy Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Endoscopy Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Endoscopy Technician to join the team!
Under the supervision of the registered nurse, assists physicians performing endoscopic procedures, obtains specimens, provides basic nursing care to patients and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. Demonstrates the ability to safely and carefully setup and disconnect the endoscopic equipment and reprocess scopes according to established manufacturer guidelines. Maintains endoscopic equipment and supplies as needed. Demonstrates the ability to work under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact, stamina and endurance.
