Employee Services Director directs the selection, design, and implementation of employee engagement programs geared to attract and retain employees and promote a healthy and productive work environment. Evaluates programs focused on work-life, child care, fitness, discounts, remote working, education, training, and others to provide options that engage employees. Being an Employee Services Director develops processes to analyze and assess program utilization, employee feedback, competitiveness, and workforce productivity to ensure that a cost-effective mix of programs is offered. Designs policies and procedures to promote efficiency and optimize administrative hours to control costs. Additionally, Employee Services Director researches and remains up to date with evolving changes in the employee experience space to identify areas to improve employee engagement and work experience. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Employee Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function.     Job Summary

     

    The Apex Service Partners Employee Services (HR) Generalist supports the day-to-day operations of the Employee Services department. The ESG will promote HR practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. Reporting directly to the Regional Director of Employee Services, the ESG will support the implementation of services, policies, and program, and assist team members with HR initiatives.

     

    Key Job Responsibilities

     

    · Provide administrative support to the Human Resources department for multiple locations/entities, including data entry, application support, filing, reporting, managing email inboxes, maintaining employee records, and answering basic HR related inquiries from employees via email and over the phone.

    · Manage the hiring process for new employees by running background screenings and issuing drug screenings, tracking hiring compliance against anticipated start dates, completing all pre-hire screenings, and ensuring candidates complete all required compliance documents and processes.

    · Communicate and coordinate start dates, equipment and system access setup, uniform issuance, and completion of new hire paperwork, across multiple companies/locations. The primary system of record is ADP.

    · Lead virtual orientation for regional new hire classes, ensuring a top-notch employee experience.

    · Coordinate and lead Safety initiatives, pairing with site teams, regional teams, and TPA teams to maintain and secure location, fleet, and employee safety initiatives.

    · Coordinate employee engagement initiatives to support retention efforts within the region, leading training, employee connections, 30/60/90-day feedback sessions and resolving basic employee complaints.

    · Pair with the Director to investigate, report on, and resolve legal, compliance and employee relations issues, as they arise.

     

    Required Education and Experience

     

    · 3 years of experience in an HR related role, with emphasis on onboarding/orientation/employee engagement

    · 1-2 years of experience in basic employee conflict resolution processes

    · Experience with employee/customer facilitation, interactions, and correspondence

    · Strong customer service skills

    · Experience with employee training and development programs

    · Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    · Excellent organizational skills and superior attention to detail

    · Ability to multi-task, work independently, and maintain confidentiality

    · Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    · Associate’s or bachelor’s in human resources, business, or related field

    · Knowledge of California state and federal laws and human resources policies and practices

    · Experience with an HRIS, ATS, CRM, LMS and other related systems/applications

    · Experience working in ADP

     

    Travel:

     

    This is an onsite role, in Concord, CA. However, some travel may be required (up to 30%), to regional onsite locations and corporate locations in Southern California, as business needs dictate.

     

    PAY TRANSPARENCY:

     

    The starting hourly for this opportunity ranges from $28-30/hr. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Other rewards may include incentive plan opportunities and annual bonus eligibility. We provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO). A candidate’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions. Please note that the compensation information is a good faith estimate for this position. It assumes a rate based on location and experience.
