Being an Employee Services Director develops processes to analyze and assess program utilization, employee feedback, competitiveness, and workforce productivity to ensure that a cost-effective mix of programs is offered. The Director of Employee Services & Benefits is an experienced and dynamic Director with a unique skill set encompassing strategic HR leadership, payroll, and benefits administration. This role is responsible for overseeing a full spectrum of human resource functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, and administrative processing. Additionally, the incumbent plays a hands-on role in managing payroll processes and ensuring the effective administration of employee benefit programs.
With Charter Oak State College representing one of the six public institutes of higher education in the CSCU system, the individual in this role will interface and collaborate with CSCU system leadership and sister schools within the system to leverage best practices and policies on behalf of the State of Connecticut and the students served by the College.
Under the direction of the Vice President for Administration and CFO, the Director of Employee Services & Benefits is accountable for wrap around human resource and payroll duties for all employees of the College while also collaborating with the CSCU System to balance and leverage efficiencies by effective performance in these essential areas:
In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of: Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; Service on assigned committees and task forces; Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings. These may involve attendance at evening or weekend events.
