ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Employee Relations Specialist serves as a focal point for communication for employees and working as a support to leaders relating to employee-related matters. This position will provide a broad range of professional employee relations activities such as conflict resolution, employee consulting, complaint investigations, policy interpretations, retention strategies. The Employee Relations Specialist will need to be able to exercise a high-level of confidentiality, and independent discretions in decision making and execution of responsibilities.
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

Establishes a point of contact for employee feedback, a resource for answers to questions, and a sounding board for concerns.

Providing strategic support and coaching through partnership, to ensure the management of employee performance with a focus on employee relations, performance improvement and corrective action matters, is top of mind for all organizational leadership.

Assisting organizational leadership with the development and delivery of appropriate feedback or corrective/disciplinary actions.

Responsible for ensuring each employee relations or workplace concerns are documented and addressed regardless of the intake method utilizing a case management system. Escalating employee concerns or grievances as necessary.

Each employee relations or workplace concerns will be appropriately reviewed, utilizing a fact-finding method in a deliberate, thorough, and timely manner.

Provides advice and counsel to supervisors on employee issues as they relate to compliance with regulations and laws.

Conducts interactive processes with employees to determine ADA compliance and reasonable accommodations.

Handles routine labor relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and agreements; refers complex matters to appropriate management staff.

Partners with leaders to drive employee retention. Monitor’s turnover, conducting onboarding/orientation reviews through surveys, stay interviews, exit interviews, and root cause analysis, and initiates appropriate intervention in high turnover areas.

Review, implement, and analyze orientation, conducting orientation on a bi-weekly basis.

Develop, implement, and analyze an annual employee engagement survey, developing strategies for improvement.

Review, implement, and analyze evaluation process, ensuring 90-day reviews, bi-annual reviews, and 360 reviews are conducted on a consistent cycle.

Assist with employee recognition strategies, implementing, and analyzing as necessary.

Identifies trends and opportunities to positively impact employee experience.

Actively works with other HR members to develop comprehensive diversity & inclusion training and education program and ensure it is incorporated into full life cycle of employment.

Manages the employee involuntary off-boarding process including request to terminate notices, communication of final check requirements, and timely response to unemployment claims and hearings.

Assist in training on harassment and discrimination, employment law, ADA, performance reviews, discipline, terminations, ethics, and personnel policies and regulations.

Administers Employee Policy Handbook. Proposes and makes recommendations for changes and improvements to the employee policy handbook.

Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance and communicates changes.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

Bachelor’s Degree with major coursework in HR management, business administration, psychology, social work, or related field.

3-5 years of management-employee relations issues and focusing on the in-person interface required.

Previous experience working in a human resources multi-disciplinary team preferred.

Previous experience working in health care desired.

PHR, SPHR or related Human Resources certification preferred.

Must be able to travel in-between sites on a consistent basis. This position is an in-person position.
