    Job Summary

    Under the general direction of the Director of Academic Employee and Labor Relations, the Coordinator, Employee and Labor Relations, and Faculty Affairs, provides support to the Employee and Labor Relations Department, and to the Faculty Affairs team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serves as point person for personnel files management and coordinating requests to review personnel files. Leads and manages the personnel files conversion from paper to digital files. Provides direct support and ensures completion of Lecturer Evaluations, serves as point person for gathering information as requested from Faculty Affairs management team for Unit 3 (faculty) and Unit 11 employees.
    • Responsible for grievance data management for Unit 3 (faculty) and Unit 11 employees. Provides relevant grievant information to union, faculty, and management. Manages the grievance database to ensure information/documents are entered and uploaded in a timely manner. Attends grievance meetings as notes taker, transcribes meeting notes.
    • Serves as the point person for coordination and completion of Background Checks for Unit 3 (faculty) and Unit 11 employees. Reports flagged/anomalies to Academic Employee and Labor Relations.
    • Provides assistance and support for the Faculty Lecture Evaluation process. Responsibilities include, reviewing faculty undergoing review for accuracy, creating cases in the database, responding to questions, and monitors and tracks evaluations to ensure completion.
    • Responsible for researching, gathering, analyzing and preparing reports for personnel information upon request from Faculty Affairs team. Serves as point person for Employment Verification requests, and preparing Employment Verification letters.
    • This position provides administrative support to the Director, Employee and Labor Relations, and Faculty Affairs staff. Responsibilities include scheduling meetings, taking notes, transcribing meeting notes. Assist Faculty Affairs teams with events/functions. Attends event/functions to provide support as needed.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    Comprehensive knowledge of fundamentals of Human Resources practices and experience working with sensitive information. Knowledge of analysis requiring understanding of student employment policies and procedures. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong communication skills to interact with personnel and management. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work on multiple projects with competing deadlines.

    Ability to exercise considerable initiative, judgment, and independence to achieve desired results.

    Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

    Education and Experience

    Equivalent to three years of related experience required.

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience in related field is preferred.

    Experience with PeopleSoft HR and using Microsoft Office proficiently.

    Experience working with databases preferred.

    Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

    Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $3,661 - $4,300 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

    CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,661 - $6,081 per month.

    Time Base

    1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.

    Duration of Appointment

    This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
