Employee Performance Specialist develops, implements, and administers programs that evaluate, measure, and improve employee performance. Conducts assessment activities to evaluate and identify the current and emerging skills, competencies, and behaviors required to achieve desired organizational results and prepare for future needs. Being a Employee Performance Specialist designs performance management strategies and processes that measure outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and align teams to organizational goals. Identifies the types of training and development and resources needed to achieve workforce performance improvements. Additionally, Employee Performance Specialist encourages a culture of objective setting and result measurement aligned to pay and rewards using tools, training, and communication. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Employee Performance Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Learning & Performance Specialist

  • General Purpose: To design, develop and deliver learning and development initiatives for new and existing employees.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities

    • Design and execute a structured continuing education program for all tellers, lenders, member service representatives and support staff ensuring they are well-equipped to best serve members.
    • Design, develop, and deliver in-person, self-paced, virtual, and e-learning courses to new and existing employees on a wide range of topics including, but not limited to, lending, member service, sales and service, culture, products and services, regulations, systems, and professional development. Must have ability to clearly communicate to a wide variety of group sizes in both formal and informal settings.
    • Collaborate with management and the Learning & Performance team to plan and design regular training sessions and ensure the meetings are recorded and broadcasted for staff.
    • Produce and design training manuals, handouts, procedures, online resources, and supplemental training materials.
    • Contribute to the administration, implementation, and improvement of career development and staff advancement programs for front-line and other Credit Union staff.

    Other Duties/Responsibilities

    • Remain current on changes within the regulatory, economic, technological, and competitive environments that may affect the duties of front-line staff and other Credit Union personnel.
    • Continually develop and improve knowledge, skills, and ability as it relates to the field of Learning & Performance.
    • Perform administrative duties such as database management, scheduling, filing and maintaining records, providing reports, updating internal and external websites, data entry, ordering supplies, and managing relationships with key business partners and vendors.
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned by Learning & Performance Manager.

    Job Knowledge

    • Knowledge of modern principles and practices of adult education, curriculum development, and teaching and communication methods.
    • Knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar, composition, and arithmetic.
    • Knowledge of Credit Union rules, products, services, regulations, and procedures.
    • Knowledge of Credit Union philosophies, practices, policies, and interrelated functions.
    • Technical knowledge of computer software and hardware to conduct training.
    • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory issues for financial institutions.
    • Knowledge of standard sales and service techniques.

    • Ability to prioritize duties, handle multiple tasks, and produce a high volume of work in timely manner that is accurate and of high quality.

    Job Qualifications (Education/Experience)

    Job requires a four year college level of language, math and reasoning skills. The ideal candidate should have some training or teaching experience, either at BHFCU or in another corporate setting. PFA experience is also preferred. This position requires a high level of written and verbal communication skills and strong proficiency in computer systems and technology.

    This position requires flexibility and high professional standards of personal appearance, conduct, judgment, and the highest level of confidentiality.
