JOB SUMMARY: As a Dining Room Host/Hostess, you will provide friendly, excellent service to every guest at the St. Croix Casino Danbury. Must be knowledgeable of all areas of the restaurant including cashier, bus person, and wait staff duties.
QUALIFICATIONS: Native American preference. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Prefer at least one year experience in the restaurant profession. Must have the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner. Must be a motivated team player.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Work inside an assigned restaurant during an entire shift. Must be able to listen and respond to visual and oral cues. Must have the ability to maneuver in and around tables when leading guests to be seated. Must be able to tolerate secondary smoke and must be able to stand and walk for an eight (8) hour shift or more.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Greet guests and take them to their table. You will need to be able to monitor the table rotation and make sure that each member of the wait staff gets a fair amount of tables without giving them too many all at once. At the same time, you will need to know which servers you can count on to take extra tables when you get busy with guests. You will also need to keep track of which table are cleaned and available for new guests and you may be required to answer the phone and take to go orders. Process payments and make change. Handle and solve any concerns or questions in a fair and professional manner from guests and co-workers. Maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant and assist where needed.
Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the position, adhere to and enforce all departmental and company policies, and attend all mandatory training. Must comply with and enforce all safety policies and rules.
