Job Summary:
The Room Service Attendant at Ocean Place Resort & Spa is responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests by ensuring timely, accurate and professional delivery of food and beverages to their rooms and to our spa. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong customer service skills. The Room Service Attendant will work as part of a team to maintain the highest standards of quality and service at our resort in Long Branch, New Jersey.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a part-time, hourly position. Hourly rate will be based on experience. Responsibilities:
- Take and process orders from guests via phone or tablet devices
- Thoroughly review and confirm guests' orders to ensure accuracy
- Prepare and package food and beverage orders for delivery
- Deliver orders to guests' rooms in a timely and courteous manner
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any questions or concerns guests may have
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and responsibly
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the room service area and kitchen
- Communicate with kitchen and restaurant staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Assist with training and mentoring new room service attendants
- Follow all hotel policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests
- Continuously strive to up-sell and promote our services and amenities to guests
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in room service or a similar hospitality role preferred
- Proven track record of providing excellent customer service
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multitask efficiently
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- Knowledge of food and beverage items and their preparation methods
- Familiarity with electronic ordering systems and tablets is a plus
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
