Employee Development Specialist implements and supports programs aligned with leadership development strategy and strategic business imperatives to develop management capabilities throughout the workforce. Maintains frameworks that represent skills and leadership capabilities that are critical to long-term and short-term objectives. Being a Employee Development Specialist supports training, coaching, professional development, and experiential assignments that make up the leadership development strategy. Fosters a culture of informal knowledge exchange, coaching, and training throughout the organization to engage and develop the workforce. Additionally, Employee Development Specialist promotes training and development programs and career pathing initiatives. Prepares analysis and reporting of leadership development efforts and results. May participate in periodic succession planning exercises and talent assessments to ensure critical roles are defined. Helps to create slates of individuals identified for leadership development activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Employee Development Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Job Responsibilities Include :

    • Bring team vision to life through encouraging every Laitram employee to value and prioritize actions that advance our culture and business philosophy.
    • Develop deep understanding of our principles and apply them t hrough coaching, one-on-one meetings , leadership development, presentations, etc.
    • Partner with Divisional leadership and employees to build comprehensive development plans in line with our culture and business goals.
    • Work with managers and supervisors to help with performance management, ongoing coaching, and development.
    • Be a reliable "trust partner" across the organization and co-create development plans and performance improvement plans to support our continuous improvement mindset.
    • Conduct individual and small group employee meetings, including onboarding check in's and exit interviews.
    • Lead the effort to use continuous improvement teams to streamline processes and drive Operational Excellence.
    • Serve as an HR liaison for questions and support related to benefits, recruiting, payroll and employee relations.
    • Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve engagement and learning outcomes.
    • Support in talent development - ensure each individual is in the right role operating at peak performance.
    • Comfortable supporting organization from employee to senior leadership level across multiple operating divisions, business units , and functions.

    Requirements

    • 5 yrs. experience in Human Resources , training, education and / or t alent d evelopment.
    • Bachelor's degree in H uman R esources , E ducation, Business, or related field.
    • Experience with presenting topics related to values, principles and soft skills, exceptional presentation, and influencing skills.
    • Exceptional meeting facilitation skills.
    • Ability to translate abstract concepts into practical applications .
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively with others.
    • Inspires trust and relates well to people of varying roles and levels.
    • Confident, resilient and takes initiative.
    • Strong communication , planning and organizational skills and habits.
    • Proficiency in various Microsoft Office tools, learning management systems, and Teams video meetings.
    • Works well in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.
