Employee Development Specialist implements and supports programs aligned with leadership development strategy and strategic business imperatives to develop management capabilities throughout the workforce. Maintains frameworks that represent skills and leadership capabilities that are critical to long-term and short-term objectives. Being a Employee Development Specialist supports training, coaching, professional development, and experiential assignments that make up the leadership development strategy. Fosters a culture of informal knowledge exchange, coaching, and training throughout the organization to engage and develop the workforce. Additionally, Employee Development Specialist promotes training and development programs and career pathing initiatives. Prepares analysis and reporting of leadership development efforts and results. May participate in periodic succession planning exercises and talent assessments to ensure critical roles are defined. Helps to create slates of individuals identified for leadership development activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Employee Development Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Let’s talk about the Background, Knowledge, & Experience We’re Looking For…
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or related field, plus 3 years related Human Resources experience preferred; OR
Associates degree (AA) or equivalent and 5 years’ Human Resources experience preferred.
PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
HR generalist background experience desired includes onboarding, recruitment, performance management, disciplinary action, employee involvement, teambuilding, as well as general understanding of compensation and benefits.
Must have demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining diverse employee talent, including creating and implementing recruitment strategies.
Proven experience with Internal Policy and Procedural changes and Implementation.
Demonstrated experience in engaging employees of varying backgrounds and levels.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Exhibit extraordinary discretion, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with our senior management team.
Thorough knowledge of California employment-related laws and regulations.
