Employee Communications Manager manages the daily operations of the internal communication programs within an organization. Implements and participates in the design of communication programs to support and reinforce organizational objectives and comply with regulations. Being an Employee Communications Manager develops messaging themes and content. Ensures the accuracy of information distributed and standards using quality processes. Additionally, Employee Communications Manager collaborates with public relations or corporate communications teams on projects. Oversees vendors providing support services. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Employee Communications Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Employee Communications Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Overview and Essential Functions

    • Manage in house and subcontracted resources performing outside plant (OSP) construction and activation.
    • Conduct pre-construction meetings.
    • Interface with customers to coordinate schedules, plans and risks.
    • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
    • Accurately forecast resource requirements based on completion deadlines.
    • Conduct and manage quality control to ensure projects are executed safely and to specifications.
    • Forecast, order and manage material usage requirements.
    • Review permits and licenses.
    • Manage process of collecting, reviewing and distributing deliverables.
    • Resolve issues related to damages and customer escalations.
    • Ensure quality construction standards while using proper construction techniques.
    • Ensure the project gets completed on time.
    • Participate in preparation and review of estimates with attention to the following: adherence to cost control system, equipment requirements and utilization, construct ability, form work, materials, manpower, general conditions, schedule, insurance, etc.
    • Communicate directly with customers as appropriate acting as the escalation point for project issues.
    • Ensure that customers are informed of project progress, issues and projected completion dates.
    • Assure the timely completion and submission of all required reports. 
    • Participate in accident investigations with fleet and safety employees. Determine degree of prevent-ability and coach employees on safe driving habits.  

    Qualifications

    • 3 years of Fiber construction experience and minimum of 6 months of supervisory experience
    • Project management skills including planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks
    • Able to multitask and prioritize.
    • Strong Microsoft Office computer skills.
    • Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
    • Able to read and understand financial metrics and identify remedies to financial issues.
    • High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred
    • Must have a valid unrestricted drivers license of at least 2 years.
    • Must pass a background check, drug test, and motor vehicle check.
    • Authorized to work in the United States
