Employee Communications Director manages the development and implementation of all internal communication programs within an organization. Oversees the design and implementation of communication programs to support and reinforce organizational objectives and comply with regulations. Being an Employee Communications Director manages project deliverables and timelines. Ensures consistent messaging themes and effective content selections. Additionally, Employee Communications Director manages the collaboration with public relations or corporate communications teams to produce clear and consistent communications. Assists in evaluating and selecting vendors to provide support services. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Employee Communications Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Employee Communications Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Director - Salary: Special Employment Agreement ($9,114- $10,314)

    This position requires a degree in communications, emergency management, public administration, or another related field. A combination of additional or specialty training and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement; previous experience working in an emergency services environment; previous supervisory experience; current and valid driver license; First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or ability to obtain within six (6) months and a criminal history and background check, including fingerprinting, will be performed on qualified candidates, who must be able to meet requirements for Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification.

    Benefits: Medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance benefits are provided. Employees will be enrolled in the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems, and with an option to enroll in a deferred compensation plan. This is a FLSA exempt position.
