We seek a Senior Manager to help guide our employee engagement and support the evolution of the Celanese Global Communications function into a robust, industry-leading communications team.

     

    The Senior Manager, Employee Communications, is a skilled storyteller and a champion of employee engagement who is focused on the overall strategic message platform for internal communications. Keys to success include building and nurturing effective working relationships with internal functional partners, especially in Human Resources. Through effective written and oral communications, this individual advances employee engagement, communicates executive messages, builds community, and drives cultural and business imperatives in a way that creates excitement among employees.

     

    S/he is responsible for ensuring consistent messaging in various corporate employee communications vehicles, leveraging the full array of communications solutions and seeks to develop new, cost-effective tools that support increased engagement. The candidate will bring experience implementing and executing large enterprise-wide initiatives.

     

    The role is ideal for an outstanding professional with at least 10-12 years of professional experience and a proven track record of success in the areas of employee communications, executive communications, corporate communications, and change communication (either in a corporate or agency setting). Experience in applying artificial intelligence to corporate communications would be icing on the cake.

     

    Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with VP of Global Corporate Communications to help develop the strategic overall platform for employee communications. Craft and execute integrated communications plans for the corporation and its leadership. Play a role in setting and achieving objectives for employee communications through performance targets and quantifiably measure progress.
  • Translate the business strategy into key messages, manage the dissemination, assess and adjust as necessary.
  • Partner with regional communications leads on implementation of corporate initiatives and localized support of sites and key leaders.
  • Support select Celanese corporate and business functions by providing regular and ongoing counsel on internal communications strategies.
  • Outline appropriate communications tools and establish expectations for their use. Partner with team members to support communications process improvement, identifying gaps and barriers to information flow with the use of research and assessment tools.
  • Identify creative opportunities to communicate with internal audiences. Advise and assist in developing executive messages and strategies to drive the organization’s and their functions’ goals and objectives. Develop relationships at all levels of the organization to support and provide counsel to internal Celanese teams.
  • Ensure consistent messaging in employee communications vehicles, leveraging the full array of communication solutions (face-to-face, intranet, email, leader communications, etc.)
  • Qualifications

    • Holds a Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university, preferably in English, Public Relations, Communications or a related field. Experience with manufacturing-based companies and/or companies with geographically and functionally diverse operations is beneficial as well.
    • Holds at least 10-12 years of professional experience, including experience with proven success at leading execution.
    • Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication skills from concept to completion, including message development, audience analysis (including tone and voice), and the creation, editing and tailoring of compelling communications for a variety of channels. Knows their way around the AP Stylebook.
    • Demonstrates strategic, creative business approach while maintaining a strong focus on execution.
    • Displays original thinking and creativity, intellectual curiosity, self-confidence and maturity. Meets challenges with resourcefulness. Generates suggestions for improving work with innovative approaches and ideas.
    • Possesses strong business acumen.
    • Models strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple demanding initiatives concurrently.
    • Demonstrates attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
    • Embraces a problem-solving mindset, bringing forward solutions after gathering and analyzing information.
    • Seeks ways to improve and promote quality and efficiency.

Also demonstrates excellent influence skills in order to impact colleagues and client groups to set/change direction and implement effective internal/external communications programs.
    • Holds a high level of professional integrity, confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive issues and situations with poise and emotional maturity.
    • Works comfortably in a highly dynamic, fast-paced corporate environment where a high degree of flexibility is required. Demonstrates adaptability.
