Employee Communications Director manages the development and implementation of all internal communication programs within an organization. Oversees the design and implementation of communication programs to support and reinforce organizational objectives and comply with regulations.     SUMMARY
    Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and other members of the executive team, the Director for Communications ensures the development and successful execution of an annual strategic communications plan. The Director for Communications oversees the agency’s brand management, communication, and marketing efforts, including for the agency’s social enterprises, and oversees public relations activities. The Director for Communications will ensure targeted constituents are engaged by producing publications (reports, newsletters, website), generation of working statements on women and children in poverty, social media management, surveys (participants, partners, donors), and media relations.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Creation and implementation of a strategic communication plan to promote and support the work of Center for Transforming Lives, including:


    • Fundraising– Develop and implement communication activities designed to generate awareness of the work of CTL and to generate philanthropic support of the agency at all levels of giving.
    • External communications – Develops and maintains activities, copy, and collateral pieces for use with the general public to inform, influence and engage in support of the goals of CTL including potential participants, volunteers, donors, and other stakeholders, including, but not limited to:


    • Website
    • Social media content
    • Public relations
    • Brochures
    • Reports
    • Communication events such as Lunch n Learn series
    • Speaking engagement support
    • Internal communications – Develops and maintains internal communications framework and systems including internal communications calendar, and agency intranet.


    • Oversees all personnel, volunteers, and contractors necessary for successful execution of the communications plan.
    • Serves as primary liaison with media interactions and actively cultivates relationships in support of media opportunities.
    • Identify challenges and emerging issues within the organization and successfully work with CTL personnel, participants, and volunteers to address them.
    • Partner and collaborate with the Communications Committee of the board of directors to solicit feedback and align communications work with best practices.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
    • Minimum three years’ experience in a nonprofit agency or in-house communications position.
    • Expertise in multiple social media platforms, Windows operating systems, and Microsoft Office products.
    • Experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop preferred.
