To be an Employee Communications Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Program Manager (Director) - Healthcare Communications - PMP Required

  • DCG Communications (DCG) is seeking a motivated Program Manager (Director) to join our anticipated client team that will provide project management and communications activities on behalf of the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Office of Nursing Services (ONS). You will lead a team developing and editing content on behalf of VA’s Nursing Workforce Strategic Plan planning and implementation efforts. You will oversee a diverse team providing communications and technical writing and editing support, project managers each responsible for a unique workstream, as well as technical staff (web and SharePoint) and a subject matter expert (SME). 

    The Program Manager will be responsible for providing comprehensive support services to the Project Management Office (PMO) and related project-level activities.

    Additional responsibilities include:

    • Develop a Project Management Plan (PMP) showcasing our approach, timeline, and deliverables to be used in the execution of the contract, and in compliance with the client's guidelines and best practices.
    • Assist the Government in implementing disciplined, comprehensive, and flexible program and project management processes, including monitoring of project metrics, rigorous risk management, and prompt reporting on Government-approved cost, schedule, performance, and risk baseline. 
    • Conduct an initial Maturity Assessment of the overall project; reconduct the assessment every six (6) months
    • Maintain (or re-develop if appropriate) existing roadmap and update monthly.
    • Maintain and update Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboard and identify new metrics as applicable.

    Location: At DCG the majority of our team members, including this role, are remote. With over 100 employees based in 28 states (and counting!), DCG is committed to hiring talented employees across the United States. The selected candidate will work during DCG’s core Eastern Standard Time business hours. 

    Position Requirements:

    • Master’s degree
    • PMP certification
    • 10 years of  Project Management experience supporting a large corporation or government agency.
    • 2 years' experience in clinical operations, preferably in the nursing field.  
    • Proven experience autonomously overseeing a large federal program with the ability to effectively manage contract financials. 
    • Proven ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams toward shared objectives through clear communication, and strategic planning, while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
    • Excels at building strong client relationships.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
