    Position Summary:  

    The Communications Director develops and implements communications for the company. This position works closely with the Vice President of Corporate Affairs to develop and execute the communication strategy that advances the company’s priorities and business objectives. The Communications Director serves as the senior communications strategist, communications team leader and advisor to senior leaders. This position ensures the company’s employees feel deeply connected to the company. 

     

    Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: 

    • Lead internal and external communications processes as well as strategy and support
    • Collaborate with the company’s leadership teams and corporate functions i.e., HR, Legal, IT, Finance, Operations, Sales, etc. along with the Reyes Holdings communications team to develop and execute strategies to connect our workforces and align employee messages to drive results against business objectives and consistency across the enterprise
    • Act as a strategic advisor to the company’s leadership teams regarding communications topics/issues and understand business priorities and translate those into internal communications plans and messages that can be executed across the company
    • Partner with stakeholders on change management initiatives and lead communications support of business optimization efforts
    • Embed messages related to strategy, objectives, vision, values and culture within internal communications and ensure strategic content supports business efforts and resonates with all employees
    • Serve as editor-in-chief for company intranet i.e., working with team to set content strategy, site governance and processes to ensure employees have access to the tools, resources and information they need
    • Oversee and manage the company’s online presence by owning the copy and graphic elements of external websites and LinkedIn
    • Identify and assess effectiveness of existing communications vehicles
    • Develop a framework for measuring the quality and value of internal communications and make this framework visible to the company
    • Develop and implement solutions to improve reach/usage of communication vehicles and launch new vehicles as needed
    • Measure, monitor and respond to employee feedback, including engagement surveys and focus groups with key internal stakeholders
    • Plan and execute employee communications events, i.e., town halls, webcasts, etc.
    • Partner with Human Resources and other corporate functions to coordinate and create communications campaigns, i.e., Corporate Social Responsibility, Talent Acquisition, Company Culture, and other values-driven initiatives
    • Coordinate, draft, edit and publish communications through newsletters, e-mail, intranet, video and other media
    • Ensure consistent corporate image/company brand is communicated and maintained across all internal and external outlets and communications vehicles
    • Manage a team of communications professionals and third party vendors
    • Manage quarterly and/or annual communications editorial calendar
    • Manage the press release process as needed
    • Other projects or duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Experience: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or related field with 8 to 10 plus years of related experience and 6 plus years of people leadership experience and 6 plus years of people leadership experience or HS Diploma/GED with 13 plus years of related experience 
    • Experience counseling senior leadership, being a strategic business partner and providing recommendations on internal and external communications
    • Experience leading communications and change initiatives for an organization in times of growth, integration, business transformation, etc.
    • Ability to coach and develop employees in an ever-changing, matrixed scaling business environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills inclusive of presentation skills and active listening skills with all levels of an organization
    • Ability to understand issues and design appropriate, audience-specific solutions
    • Ability to leverage internal communications to enhance business success
    • Ability to think outside the box and introduce creative ideas
    • Strong resourcefulness skills
    • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data and input from a variety of stakeholders to select, influence and execute the best solutions
    • Excellent ability to build strong relationships with employees at all levels of an organization
    • Strong influencing, persuading and negotiating skills
    • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities
    • High level of integrity, energy, results-orientation and customer focus
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Content development skills inclusive of writing, spelling, grammar, editing, etc.
    • Electronic communications experience i.e., intranet, video, social media, etc.
    • Travel up to 30%
    • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

    Preferred Skills and Experience: 

    • Master’s degree
    • Experience in the distribution, manufacturing, and/or consumer goods industry
    • Strong knowledge of food and beverage industry trends
    • SharePoint experience
